Design Your Bindis - 1

Bindi- The Forehead Art- Part 11

One of my friends asked me for a simple design, easy to create in a jiffy. These days every one is using sticker or self adhesive Bindis. So I have used to them to create these designs.

Here are some Bindi Designs, using sticker Bindis. They are very easy and you can experiment to find your own favorite one.

I have used a medium sized round or circular Bindi,  small circular bindis and oblong shaped small bindi- all  in maroon colour with black edge and all are self adhesive (sticker) bindis, readily available in the markets.

This is a simple round bindi- maroon or dark red with black edge.
Here I have added a small bindi in same colour.
Here three small bindis in triangular shape with a big one.
 The same with reversed triangle
Four small bindis with big one in the center.
I have used small ones - 5 of them as semi circle under the big one.
Here I have added one small one on the top to the previous design.
Here, I have used small bindis - 8 of them to surround the big bindi in the center.

Hope you like them. Watch out for more designs......

Bindi- The Forehead Art- Part- 9

Sticker Bindis

Bindis or Sindhur or Kumkum is a must for us Indian Women. It adds beauty and completes our make up. In earlier days, powder or liquid was used. Now sticker bindis which are ready made are used. Now a days very few use the powder or liquid.

Sticker Bindis have become very popular because
  • easy to wear
  • just stick on the forehead and they stay there
  • no fear of getting wiped off just with an accidental swipe of hand or from water or sweat
  • easily available
  • available in many colours, shapes and sizes
  • costs less
  • easy to carry
  • can be reused many times
  • available in simple designs for daily use
  • fancy and designer-wear available  at reasonable cost which look grand with pearl or stones
So these days most of us wear sticker Bindis. I love collecting a variety of Bindis, though I may not wear some of them.

Here are some from my collection of designer Bindis:

The center design is worn on the forehead between the eyebrows and the curved ones above the eye brows. Usually worn by the bride or by traditional dancers.

One can wear it on special occasions or parties. Some are simple some are heavy.

Designer Bindis make a great gift for young girls and ladies during our religious occasions like Dusehra, or Sravana Puja.

Hope you like them. Watch out for more.......

Bindi-The Forehead Art

Part-3

Here are my previous posts on the topic:

Now for some designs. These can be drawn with the liquid Bindi or Kajal. One can also use liquid eye liners which are available in many colours and also that they have a brush with fine tip to apply. I have only used green, black, blue and some metallic colours. Here you can look at the colours of the eyeliner:

They may also be available in India too. Now for the Bindi designs:

You can use colours of your choice to match the dress you are wearing, or use black or red or both which go with all colours in general. You can also adjust the size of these designs according to your choice.
